Horse Meat Scandal - The Cheap Food Delusion

I took my inspiration from M.C. Escher and his tessellations for this image. The brief (self initiated) was to produce of work to support the main feature in the The New Statesman (Feb13) by Colin Tudge, 'The cheap food delusion'. The article was published during Britain's 'horse meat scandal' and it takes a look at the state of our global food industry.

The horses legs needed to tuck up into its body as it moves up the tessellation towards the cow.

Each of the stages of the tessellation are drawn in ink.
